Client story – Chichester Tennis Academy.

Happy Friday everyone! To round off this week, I wanted to share with you, another website designed, built and hosted for a local business. Introducing – Chichester Tennis Academy.

A refresh was on the agenda:

The owner needed a design refresh on their site which had been successful in its time, but, at five years old it had become outdated and wasn’t mobile responsive – a hugely important factor in modern day website design and functionality. Click here to read my blog about website must haves.

With reports of people struggling to make online bookings, it was time for action. The client wanted a more modern, user friendly and inviting look and feel to the site.

Onto the next steps:

After an initial discovery session where we talked about the client’s objectives for the website, going through all existing website content section by section, I set to work. During this discovery session I ensure I ask about and understand all business processes the client has and what their needs are regarding the flow of information between the website and their backend processes. It could be a disaster of not all areas of your business are aligned.

The new website:

The new Chichester Tennis Academy website allows user registration and online bookings for tennis academy classes. These are scheduled in the backend and the website will not allow any class to become overbooked. Emails are sent to those making a booking along to provide them with reassuring confirmation and with details of how to make payment.

The website also emails the team behind the business telling them of new bookings that have been made. In addition there is a questionnaire complete during the booking process to ensure the tennis academy have all necessary information about students prior to them attending a class or activity club.
Most clients will come to me with much of the copy/wording they want featured on their website.

I often spend time discussing a keyword strategy with them and guiding them on ways to improve their SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) so that they appear high in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages). I then incorporate their wording and SEO ranking meta data into the site backend.

Sometimes I outsource copywriting to professional copywriters however this can prove quite expensive so it’s important to ensure your business planning means that the value to the business will be greater than the cost of the copywriter in the longer term.

This particular website took around 6 weeks to complete from start to finish. Currently I would charge between £1500 and £2500 for a website with this kind of design and booking functionality.

Here’s what the client has to say about their experience working with ShortTech:

“I’m really pleased with my new website!  Not only does it look modern and up to date, but most importantly the new online booking system works really well for my clients. Jas was full of good ideas about how to make the site work more effectively for my needs and is always very quick to respond whenever the need arises.  I would highly recommend Jas if you are looking to improve you current website.” – Justin Pollard
